Chelsea signs goalkeeper Willy Caballero

London, July 1 (IBNS): British football club Chelsea on Saturday said it has signed goalkeeper Willy Caballero on a free transfer.

The club website read: "Caballero arrives having been out of contract at Manchester City. He will add strength to our goalkeeper resources following the departure of Asmir Begovic to Bournemouth."

The footballer spent the past three seasons in Manchester City.

Caballero was quoted as saying by the club website: "I am very happy to join Chelsea, the champions of England. I am looking forward to meeting the guys and helping the club achieve more success in the coming season."
