CL T20: Kings XI Punjab beat Northern Districts

Mohali, Sept 26 (IBNS) Karanveer Singh's strong performance with the ball where he clinched four wickets to destroy the Northern Districts batting line-up and hence clinch a massive 120 runs victory against the visitors in a Champions League T20 match here on Friday.

Setting 215 for five on the scoreboard, the Kings bowlers then bowled out Northern for 95.

Northern  batsmen completely failed in front of the Indian side as it was only

Kane Williamson (20), Anton Devcich  (28) and Daniel Flynn  (12) reached the double figure mark.

Singh destroyed the opposition batting line up as he took four wickets by giving away 15 runs in 3.2 overs.

Akshar Patel took two wickets.

Earlier, Kings scored 215 runs for the loss of five wickets.

Manan Vohra remained the top scorer for the side with his 65.

He smashed three sixes and eight boundaries in his 32-ball knock.

Virender Sehwag (52) and Vohra added 102 runs in the opening stand to give the home side a strong start in the match.

David Miller later hammered 18-ball 40 to help the side post a huge total on the scorecard.

Kings stormed into the semi-finals with the victory.

In the other match of the day, Cape Cobras  defeated  Barbados Tridents  via a super-over.

Chasing Tridents 174 for eight, Cobras reached the same score by losing five wickets.
