Bangalore, Sept 27 (IBNS): Chennai Super Kings kept their hopes of qualifying to the next round alive by beating Perth Scorchers by 13 runs in a Champions League T20 match here on Saturday.

Posting 155 for six on the scoreboard, CSK bowlers managed to restrict the opponents at 142 for seven.

R Ashwin bowled brilliantly for CSK as he picked up three wickets by giving away only 20 runs in his quota of four overs.

Nathan Coulter-Nile remained the top scorer for the side with his 30.

He smashed two boundaries and a six in his 21 -ball knock.

The match seemed to be slowly slipping out of CSK's grip with Ashton Turner  (22) and Nathan Coulter-Nile adding 50 runs in the sixth wicket partnership.

Turner's run out in the 18th over of the match turned the tide completely to CSK's favour and even Yasir Arafat's 5-ball 12 was not enough to reach the target.

Earlier, CSK posted 155 for six on the scorecard.

MS Dhoni (35) and Ravindra Jadeja (44*) added a brisk 64-run sixth-wicket partnership was crucial for the side to post a competitive total on the scoreboard.

With this loss, the Australian side is more or less out of the tournament.

In the other match of the day, Lahore Lions defeated Dolphins  by 16 runs.

Posting 164 for five, Lions restricted Dolphins to 148 for nine.
