Cricket World Cup 2023: Shubman Gill down with fever, doubtful in India's first match against Australia

| @indiablooms | Oct 06, 2023, at 05:33 pm

India batter Shubman Gill is doubtful for the team's Cricket World Cup 2023 opening match against Australia as he is down with fever, media reports said.

As per reports, Gill has been suffering from high fever since he landed in Chennai.

He has been diagnosed with dengue, NDTV reported.

However, Gill is scheduled to be tested on Friday and a final call will be taken by the medical team.

Gill, who is one of the most successful ODI batters for India in recent times, may get replaced by southpaw Ishan Kishan if the former misses the Sunday clash against Australia.

The Cricket World Cup 2023 began with a contest between defending champions England and last edition's runner-up New Zealand on Thursday.
