Cricketers congratulate AB de Villiers for smashing fastest century
AB de Villiers reached his century in just 31 deliveries as he broke the record of New Zealand batsman Corey Anderson.
Congratulating AB de Villiers, Australian batsman David Warner tweeted: "Great win tonight well done @mstarc56 for getting his best figures. What about @ABdeVilliers17 striking atm serious player well done!!"
Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi, who had hold the record of scoring the fastest century in ODI for more than 10 years, said: "Happy new year @ABdeVilliers17 well played mate."
Former Pakistani spinner Saqlain Mushtaq tweeted: "An outstanding performance by AB DE Villiers."
Former England skipper Michael Vaughn said: "Have to say @ABdeVilliers17 is the definition of a Cricketing Genius ... absolutely incredible... #31BallTon."
"When i watch @ABdeVilliers17 Bat it reminds me that I really wasn't that good in comparison ... #justsaying," he said.
In another tweet, the cricketer said: "149 off 44 balls from @ABdeVilliers17 !!!! And you still get some Ex players saying the game was better in the 70s and 80s..!!!!"
Former Indian skipper Anil Kumble said: "Congratulations @ABdeVilliers17 for a world record fastest odi hundred. Awesome batting! Unbelievable!!!"
Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra tweeted: "I demand a DNA test of AB DeVilliers...this game is only for humans. #superhuman #WhatAPlayer."
Apart from AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla (153) and Rilee Rossouw (128) contributed with their willows as South Africa scored 439 runs for the loss of two wickets in their 50 overs in the ODI match.
