CSK beat KKR by five wickets in IPL thriller

Chennai, Apr 11 (IBNS): In an exciting encounter which left the spectators thrilled, Chennai Super Kings registered their second win in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) by beating Kolkata Knight Riders by five wickets here on Tuesday.

After Kolkata put up 202 for the loss of six wickets on the scoreboard, CSK batsmen came down in the park with a purpose in their minds as they reached 203 runs with one ball to spare.

Sam Billings played one memorable knock as he smashed 23-ball 56, hitting five sixes and two boundaries, to help his team register a victory in their home turf.

Ravindra Jadeja (11*) and Dwayne Bravo (11*) added some match winning contributions at the end of the match.

Chasing 203 for victory, Australian Shane Watson (42 off 19 balls) and Ambati Rayudu (39 off 26 balls) provided CSK the perfect start to the innings.

Skipper MS Dhoni smashed 28-ball 25 runs, smashing one boundary and a six as CSK chased down the mammoth targte posted by Dinesh Karthik and his men.

Tom Curran picked up two wickets for KKR.

Earlier, riding on Andre Russell's 36-ball 88, KKR posted 202 runs on the scorecard.

He hammered 11 sixes in his entertaining knock.
