England beat Bangladesh by 106 runs

Cardiff, June 8 (IBNS): England players put up an all-round performance on the field as they defeated Bangladesh by 106 runs in a World Cup match here on Saturday.

After posting mammoth 386 runs for the loss of six wickets, English bowlers bowled out the Asian side for 287 runs.

Shakib Al Hasan remained the only bright spot in the innings as he posted 121 runs.

He smashed 12 boundaries and a six in his innings but did not get much support form the other end.

Mushfiqur Rahim added 44 runs with his willow.

English bowlers bowled out the Bangladesh side with seven balls to spare.

Stokes and Archer picked up three wickets each.

Riding on Jason Roy's majestic 153 runs knock, England posted mammoth 386 runs for the loss of six wickets in a World Cup match here on Saturday.

Roy hammered 14 boundaries and five sixes in his knock.

Apart from Roy, Bairstow (51), Buttler (64) and Plunkett (27*) added some crucial runs to help their side post a strong runs for Bangladesh to chase.

Bangladeshi bowlers looked helpless infront of the English batting attack.

Saifuddin and Miraz picked up two wickets.
