Ex-Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly takes chair of CAB president for second time in a row

Kolkata, Sep 28 (UNI) Sourav Ganguly, who was declared president uncontested of the Cricket Association of Bengal ( CAB) on Thursday, formally took the office on Saturday for the second term, following CAB's 88th AGM at the Eden Gardens.

This will be Ganguly's second term in office for the top post. He was first became president 2015, following the death of then president Jagmohan Dalmiya.


" I'm happy. It's for 10 months but it's a long time. I go and there are other things. I don't know what's next. Let's see what happens," former India skipper said.


Ganguly's five-member panel and 11 councilors of the Apex Council were also elected uncontested, while former cricketers Snehasish Ganguly and Gargi Banerjee were appointed as nominated members to the Apex Council.


A CAG representative will become the 19th member of the Apex Council which will henceforth replace the previous working committee.


The CAB last held its 84th AGM in 2015 when Jagmohan Dalmiya was elected unopposed for an eighth consecutive term.
