Favourites enter quarter finals of Team Event in 9th All India Shree Cement Bridge Championship
Kolkata/IBNS: Holders FORMIDABLES and overnight leader GUNS`n`ROSE along with other favourites including MAVERICKS, MONICA JAJOO, BANGUR CEMENT, DEEPADHAAR, PRIME and SLAMMERS displayed fine acumen to enter the quarter finals of the team event of the 9th All India Shree Cement Bridge Championship on the second day of the meet at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in New Town here Friday.
In the pre-quarter finals FORMIDABLES drubbed MIRACLES by 71- 4 International Match Points (IMPs) and GUNS`n`ROSE beat CONQUERORS 118-57 IMPs while MONICA JAJOO outplayed MAHARAJA by 91.- 44.IMPs and BANGUR CEMENT easily beat CHALLENGERS with 89-59 IMPs.
The four other last sixteen stage matches saw MAVERICKS snuffing away TEAM 114 by 66-5 IMPs, PRIME defeating TEAM BAIKUNTH by 116 -28 IMPs , DEEPADHAAR beating Radhey after a keen contest by 83-70 IMPs and SLAMMERS defeating RAMPAGE following another tough contest and scoring 44 - 34.5 IMPs.
In the quarter finals, FORMIDABLES will meet BAMGUR CEMENT and GUNS`n`ROSE will take on DEEPADHAAR while PRIME will face the challenge from MONICA JAJOO and SLAMMERS will play against MAVERICKS which will again be a three-round affair.
