FC Schalke 04 extends Naldo contract for another year

Los Angeles, Dec 8 (IBNS): FC Schalke 04 have decided to extend Naldo’s contract for an extra year until June 30, 2019.

“Naldo has become a crucial player in our club since his move as we’d hoped for. He’s proved himself both on and off the pitch to be a valuable asset to the club. In the changing room, Naldo is a respected figure and his teammates trust him immensely,” explained sporting director Christian Heidel. “Therefore we’ve decided to extend his contract already – regardless of any clause in his contract. Naldo has put pen to paper and we’re very glad to keep Naldo at Schalke.”

The Brazilian, who has been a German citizen for quite some time, moved to FC Schalke 04 in the summer of 2016 from VfL Wolfsburg.

Since then, Naldo has made 43 appearances for the Royal Blues in the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and the Europa League.

He has scored four goals including the equaliser in the Revierderby comeback.

Therefore, Naldo can look forward to at least another season in blue and white. Christian Heidel: “When you see how Naldo is performing right now, it’s not out of the question that he could stay past 2019.”
