Fernando Verdasco beats Rafael Nadal
Melbourne, Jan 19 (IBNS): Fernando Verdasco showed Spanish Tennis star Rafael Nadal the exit door from the Australian Open by beating him in a clash at Rod Laver Arena on Tuesday.
Verdasco defeated his opponent 7-6(6) 4-6 3-6 7-6(4) 6-2 .
“I just started hitting winners, I don’t know how,” Verdasco was quoted as saying by the Australian Open website.
"I was just closing the eyes and everything was going in,” he said after defeating Nadal in the first round of the tournament.
He hit 90 winners in the match.
