FIFA World Cup: Brazil thrash Mexico to reach quarter-final

Samara, Jul 2 (IBNS): Brazil reached the quarter-final stage of FIFA World Cup 2018 by thrashing Mexico at the Samara Arena Stadium here on Monday.

Brazil defeated Mexico 2-0.

The two goals were scored by Neymar and Roberto Firmino at the 51st and 88th minutes of the match respectively.

After the loss, Mexico crashed out of the tournament.

Brazil will play against the winner of Belgium-Japan match in the quarterfinal of the FIFA World Cup.
