First Test: India 52/1 at stumps, need 157 runs to win against England

Nottingham/UNI: India were 52/1 at stumps on day four and need another 157 runs to win the opening Test against England, here on Saturday.

India played 14 overs in their second innings and lost the wicket of KL Rahul, who was caught behind for 26 in the over bowled by Stuart Broad.

At the close of play on Day 4, Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara were unbeaten on 12 off 34 balls and 12 off 13 balls respectively.

Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah picked up a five-wicket haul as England were bowled out for 303 in second innings and set India a target of 209 runs to win the Test.

Joe Root, who scored 21st Test century (109) was the top-scorer for England.

England 183 and 303 all out in 85.5 overs (Joe Root 109; Mohammed Siraj 2/84, Jasprit Bumrah 5/64, Shardul Thakur 2/37, Mohammad Shami 1/72)).

India 278 and 51/1 in 14 overs (Rohit Sharma batting 12, K L Rahul 26).
