Kolkata/IBNS: Local lad Garv Lakhmani clinched the season ending Milky Moo Bengal Juniors after pipping overnight leader Saquib Hussain by a solitary stroke after carding a second round seven over 81 and a total of 166 at the Par 74 Bengal Golf Association course here.

Starting the day a stroke apart Garv & Saquib exchanged the lead multiple times during the round and were neck to neck going into the back nine. Garv held his nerve and led Saquib by two strokes with three holes to play when Saquib went birdie-par to Garv par-bogey to level the matters with one to play. Garv drained a superb clutch putt on the final hole for his only birdie of the day to seal the championship showing immense grit and determination.

Rakshik Basu took the third place as he also shot the day’s best of 81 to finish three strokes behind Saquib and eight strokes ahead of Aryav Shah in fourth with Ansh Arya completing the top five a further twelve strokes behind. Garv & Saquib also took the Category B honors with Aryav in third.

Category C had Aditya Khaitan as the runaway winner with a two day total of 166. Armaan Tekriwal took a distant second place with Vivaan Bhandari in third three strokes behind.

Category D saw a head to head battle between champion Shaurya Bhatnagar and runner up Vivaan Chhawchharia with the former closing out a comfortable win in the end.
