Hockey: India beat Australia to win series 3-1

Perth, Nov 9 (IBNS)A strong performance by Indian team helped them beat Australia 3-1 in the final match and clinch the four-match Test series here on Sunday.

The 'Men in Blue' won the series 3-1.

Despite winning the last two clashes, India look fresh and strong on the field on Sunday as the Asian side netted their first goal in the
13 th minute with Akashdeep Singh converting a penalty corner.

With no more goals scored by both the sides, the scoreline was 1-0 in favour of India at half-time.

Thomas Craig converted a penalty corner in the 36th minute to level the scorecard 1-1.

Akashdeep  (50th minute) and  S.K. Uthappa (53rd minute) scored two more goals for India to clinch the series.

Indian Captain Sardar Singh played his 200th match during the ongoing Test match against Australia.
