New Delhi, May 25 (IBNS); Delhi Daredevils skipper Kevin Pietersen apologised his fans after his team peformed miserably in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year.

Delhi just won two matches out of the 14 encounters to finish at the bottom of the points table.

Pietersen tweeted: "I'm sorry to all our wonderful fans! What we did this IPL wasn't good enough! I will accept a lot of the blame as capt - only fair! Sorry!"

Delhi suffered a seven-wicket defeat at the hand of Kings XI Punjab on Sunday.

Pietersen scored his only 50 of the tournament as he contributed 58 runs off 41 balls in the match.
