ICC World T20: Bangladesh beat Netherlands by 8 runs
Riding on Tamim Iqbal's unbeaten 83, Bangladesh posted 153 for seven and then restricted the opponents at 145 for the loss of seven wickets.
Iqbal hammered six boundaries and three sixes in the knock to give Bangladesh a strong start at the top of the innings.
Apart from him, the rest of the batting line-up failed to score much runs.
Soumya Sarkar (15), Sabbir Rahman (15), Mahmudullah (10) and Shakib Al Hasan (5) failed to contribute with their willows.
It was Tamim, who displayed the brilliance of his willow, to help Bangladesh cross the 150-run mark.
T van der Gugten picked up three wickets for Netherlands.
Chasing 154 for victory, Netherlands batsmen were restricted at 145 for seven.
Stephan Myburgh (29) and Peter Borren (29) contributed 29 runs each for the European side.
Shakib Al Hasan and Al-Amin Hossain picked up two wickets each.
