India clinch Asia Cup title with five-wicket win over Pakistan

Dubai/IBNS: In a gripping final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, India edged out archrival Pakistan by five wickets to lift the Asia Cup 2025 T20 title, sealing the win with just two balls to spare.

Pakistan, sent in to bat, looked well poised at 113 for 1, but India’s spin attack wreaked havoc as the innings crumbled to 146 all out in 19.1 overs. Kuldeep Yadav was the architect of the collapse with a devastating 4 for 30, while Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel also dealt vital blows.

India’s chase got off to a horror start, losing three wickets inside the first four overs, reducing them to 20 for 3.

But Tilak Varma and Shivam Dube steadied the ship — Varma remained unbeaten on 69, and Dube’s 33 proved crucial in the latter stages, forging a partnership that carried India across the line.

The match had everything: early drama, a spin-driven collapse, and a nervy finish. With this victory, India now secure their ninth Asia Cup title, reinforcing their dominance in the continental T20 tournament.

As fans celebrated, analysts noted the recurring pattern: India’s ability to absorb pressure through the middle overs and execute under duress. With the region’s biggest cricketing rivalry delivering another classic finale, the Asia Cup 2025 will be remembered as one more chapter in India-Pakistan folklore.
