India in commanding position in Melbourne Test, Mayank Agarwal scores 76
Melbourne, Dec 26 (IBNS): Debutant Mayank Agarwal and veteran Cheteshwar Pujara placed India in a commanding position on the first day of the third Test match at Melbourne Cricket Ground here on Wednesday.
Winning the toss, Indian skipper Virat Kohli had opted to bat.
Hanuma Vihari and Mayank, the new opening pair, gave India a solid start by scoring 40 in the first-wicket partnership.
Though Vihari (8) was dismissed by Pat Cummins, Mayank continued his batting with Pujara.
Just before tea, Mayank was dismissed at 76 and his wicket was clinched by Cummins.
As per the latest update, India scored 139/2 with Pujara (38) and Kohli (11) at the crease.
