India scores 600 runs in their first innings at the Galle Test match against Sri Lanka

Galle, Jul 27 (IBNS): India amassed a mammoth first innings score of 600 runs on the second day of the First Test match with Sri Lanka being played at Galle.

Cheteshwar Pujara’s 153, along with Ajinkya Rahane’s 57 and a fifty on debut by Hardik Pandya helped India reach 600 all out against Sri Lanka.

Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first in the opening test match against Sri Lanka here on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka's newly appointed captain Dinesh Chandimal is not playing the match due to his health issues.

Spinner Rangana Herath will be leading the Sri Lankan team in Galle test.

Meanwhile, Asela Gunaratne of SL has been ruled out for the India series after he suffered a fracture in his left thumb while fielding on Wednesday.
