Trinidad, June 24 (IBNS): The first ODI between West Indies and India has been abandoned due to rain.

Ajinkya Rahane (69), Shikhar Dhawan (87) and Virat Kohli (32*) had provided India a strong start as the visitors scored 199 runs for the loss of three wickets in 39.2 overs.

Yuvraj Singh (4) departed early but former skipper MS Dhoni (9) was at the crease with Kohli when rain came down to spoil the game.

Earlier, West Indies elected to field first after winning the toss.
