Indian women's hockey team lift Asia Cup title

New Delhi, Nov 5 (IBNS): Indian women's team defeated China 5-4 in a sudden death situation to life the Asia Cup Hockey title on Sunday.

The match had ended 1-1 in the regular time period.
India qualified for next year's Hockey World Cup with this victory.

India had defeated China 4-1 in the pool stage of the tournament.

India's Navjot Kaur scored the first goal in the 25th minute of the game.

China leveled the scoreline 1-1 in the 47th minute of the game.

Hockey India tweeted: "After a thrilling shootout India clinch GOLD at the 9th Women's #AsiaCup2017 on 5th Nov. #INDvCHN."
