IPL 2018: CSK beat MI by one wicket
Mumbai, Apr 7 (IBNS): Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Mumbai Indians by one wicket in the first match of the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Wankhede stadium here on Saturday.
Dwayne Bravo, who was the chief architect of the win for CSK, played a blistering knock of 68 from just 30 balls.
Kedar Jadhav, who played the winning shot, scored 24 runs.
Winning the toss, CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni put MI to bat first.
Boasting on a fiery batting of Krunal Pandya lower down the order, Mumbai Indians scored 165/4 in 20 overs.
Krunal remained not out at 41 (22).
Apart from Krunal, Suryakumar Yadav played an explosive knock of 43 runs from 29 balls.
Hardik Padya, who has injured himself towards the end of the innings, played an innings of 41 runs.
Shane Watson was the best bowler for CSK as he picked up two wickets for 29 runs in four overs.
