Records are shattering at the Indian Premier League auction with Kolkata Knight Riders buying left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc for a whopping Rs 24.75 crore

He is now the costliest player bought in IPL history.

He overtook skipper Pat Cummins who was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad just an hour ago for a record-smashing Rs 20.50 crore.

Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore bidding for the longest time for Cummins, who ultimately fell in the kitty of the South Indian franchise.

Cummins, who had previously played for Kolkata Knight Riders, had opted out of IPL 2023 to focus on his national team for The Ashes and 50-over ODI World Cup.

Earlier, Australia's Travis Head was also sold to Hyderabad at 6.80 crore.

Chennai Super Kings took Daryl Mitchell for Rs. 14 crore.

This is the first time Rs. 20-crore mark was breached in IPL auction history.
