New Delhi/IBNS: A doctored picture of India's tennis icon Sania Mirza marrying the country's premier fast bowler, Mohammad Shami, has gone viral on social media recently.

Rumours started to tread faster that Sania is set to tie the nuptial knot with Shami.

While the picture has come out to be doctored as per several reports, Sania's father Imran Mirza broke his silence.

Speaking to NDTV, Imran Mirza said,"This is all rubbish. She has not even met him."

Sania, who was married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, is now divorced, Shami is separated from his wife Hasin Jahan.

In 2023, Sania bid adieu to an electrifying career that marked her reaching the number one position in the doubles category of the game.

Notably Sania hails from Hyderabad where she started her tennis journey over two decades ago.
