Jadeja-Jayant help India stretch lead

Mohali, Nov 28 (IBNS): Starting the day with a deficit of 12 runs, the Indian tail wagged to give the team a handy 71-run lead, here on Monday, day three of the third Test match against England.

Ravichandran Ashwin was the lone scalp for English bowlers as the Indian batsmen have put on 354 runs for the loss of seven wickets.

Ashwin missed out on a century as he was dismissed for 72 by Stokes.

Ravindra Jadeja (70) and Jayant Yadav (26) are at the crease and will resume batting post lunch.

If the Ashwin-Jadeja partnership of 97 runs for the seventh wicket frustrated the opposition team, the 53-run partnership for the ensuing one added salt to their wounds.
