London, Mar 27 (IBNS):  Gloucestershire Cricket on Tuesday announced wicket-keeper James Bracey has signed a new contract until the end of the 2019 season.

He broke into the first team last season.

He has been featuring in the squad quite regularly towards the end of the Specsavers County Championship campaign.

His most impressive performance of the season was against rivals Glamorgan at the SSE SWALEC in September. He ended with an impressive 156, which included 19x fours and 2x sixes. James finished with a first-class average of 51.44 in 2017, the club said in a statement.

Speaking on his contract, James was quoted as saying by the club website: “I’m delighted to be signing my first professional contract, especially the fact it is with my home county. It’s something I’ve always worked very hard for and I’m grateful for all the opportunities I’ve been given with Gloucestershire, the GCB, Winterbourne CC and Bristol CC."

Gloucestershire Head Coach Richard Dawson said: “James had an excellent end to the 2017 season and showed the players and supporters the potential that he has. Therefore, I am delighted that he has signed a two-year contract with Gloucestershire where he can continue to improve and build on this talent."
