Mary Com wins fifth gold at Asian Boxing Championship, scripts new history
Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Nov 8 (IBNS) : MC Mary Kom won her fifth Asian Boxing Championships title by beating Korea’s Hyang Mi Kim to add another feather to her cap, reports said.
This was Mary Kom’s fifth final in only six appearances.
Kom had previously won all her medals in the 51 kg category while she competed in 48 kg category this time.
This makes it her maiden win in this weight class.
Mary Kom had defeated Japan’s Tsubasa Komura in a unanimous 5-0 verdict to make the summit clash.
