Kolkata, Dec 4 (IBNS): Kolkata's football giant Mohun Bagan on Thursday released Subhash Bhowmick from the post of Technical Director of the club with immediate effect.

"The club wishes to inform one and all that Mr. Subhash Bhowmick has been released from the post of Technical Director of McDowell's Mohun Bagan Football Team with immediate effect," read the club website.

"The decision was taken in wake of the Regulation circulated by AIFF during the I-League Committee meeting held on 24th November 2014 at AIFF Headquarters, New Delhi, that from the ensuing season the Technical Director should have an AFC 'A' Licence and if the same is not there he will not be able to sit in the reserve bench and also cannot conduct the training of the Team," it said.
