MS Dhoni announces retirement from international cricket

Ranchi/IBNS: Former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Saturday announced his retirement from international cricket.

Dhoni has announced his retirement on social media.

Dhoni had made his international cricket debut in an ODI series against Bangladesh in 2004. 

Later on he became the captain of India during the inaugural T20 World Cup tournament in 2007 which he went on to win for his country. 

In 2011, Dhoni went on to win the ICC Cricket World Cup in 50 overs cricket. 

Under his captaincy, the Indian cricket team had reached the number one spot in Test rankings.
