London, July 12 (IBNS) Serbian Tennis star Novak Djokovic added one more feather to his cap full of glories as he clinched the Wimbledon men's singles title by beating Swiss legend Roger Federer here on Sunday.

Djokovic defeated his opponent  7-6 (1), 6-7 (10), 6-4, 6-3 in the final clash of the tournament.

Djokovic won his third Wimbledon title. He had earlier won the title in 2014 and 2011.

He shattered Federer's hope of winning the title eight times.

The thrilling encounter lasted for  two hours and 56 minutes.

“The grass tasted good this year. As a kid I was dreaming of winning Wimbledon, so you have to do something crazy like that," the Serb was quoted as saying by wimbledon.com.

Federer complemented Djokovic and was quoted as saying to the website: "Novak played great today, also in the last two weeks and also last year and the year before that. You deserved it, Novak. He was tough on the bigger points and at the end he was rock solid.”
