Charkhi Dadri (Haryana): International shooter Manu Bhaker's grandmother and uncle tragically lost their lives in a road accident on Sunday, January 19, reported India Today.

The incident reportedly occurred around 9 a.m. on the Mahendragarh Bypass Road when a scooter hit the Brezza car in which the victims were travelling.

The impact of the collision was so severe that both victims died on the spot.

The driver of the car fled the scene following the accident.

The tragedy comes just two days after Manu Bhaker was honoured with the Khel Ratna Award by the President.

Upon receiving information about the accident, police arrived at the scene, took the bodies into custody, and sent them to the civil hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The city police station in charge confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway.
