PM Modi condoles demise of Brazilian football legend Pele

New Delhi/ IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed deep grief over the demise of Brazilian football legend, Pele.

PM Modi said that the passing away of Pelé leaves an irreplaceable void in the world of sports.

The Prime Minister tweeted: "The passing away of Pelé leaves an irreplaceable void in the world of sports. A global football superstar, his popularity transcends boundaries."

"His outstanding sporting performances and success will keep inspiring the coming generations. Condolences to his family and fans. RIP," he stated.

Brazilian football legend Pele passed away in a hospital in Sao Paulo on Thursday. He was 82.

The iconic footballer, who won three World Cups during his career, was admitted at the Albert Einstein Israelite Hospital in Sao Paulo on Nov 29.
