Rafael Nadal wins French Open title for 10th time

Paris, June 11 (IBNS): Spanish Tennis star Rafael Nadal on Sunday clinched the French Open title for the tenth time in his career.

Rafael beat Swiss player Stan Wawrinka in the final to win the title for the record tenth time.

Nadal defeated his opponent 6-2 6-3 6-1.

It was Nadal's fifteenth major Grand Slam crown.

He is the only player in the open era to win a Grand Slam for 10 times.

With this victory, he moved above Pete Sampras in the list of all-time Grand Slam winners.

He is standing on the second spot behind Swiss icon Roger Federer.

Roger won the Australian Open this year. It was his 18th crown.

Nadal's opponent in today's match Stan Wawrinka had won the crown in 2014.

He struggled ion front of Nadal on Sunday.

“It’s a feeling that’s impossible to describe,” Nadal was quoted as saying by French Open website.

He said:"For me the nerves and the adrenaline I feel when I play on this court is impossible to compare to another court. It is the most important event in my career, to win again here is impossible to describe.”
