Mumbai, June 29 (IBNS) Former India captain Rahul Dravid has accepted a request from the Indian team management, to support and advise the squad in its preparatory stages of the tour of England, said the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday.

BCCI hoped the Indian team will gain from "his vast experience and knowledge of the game" during the five-Test series against England.

He will be with the team till the beginning of the first Test, said Sanjay Patel, Hony. Secretary, BCCI

Dravid announced his retirement from Test and domestic cricket on 9 March 2012, after the 2011–12 tour of Australia. He was the second-highest run scorer and had taken the highest number of catches in Test cricket at the time of his retirement.[1
