London/IBNS: India's KL Rahul grinded with the bat after his team bowled out the hosts for 387 on the second day of third Test at Lord's in London on Friday.

At stumps, India scored 145-3 with Rahul and Pant on the crease unbeaten at 53 (113 balls) and 19 (33 balls) respectively.

Prior to Rahul's half century, Karun Nair, who has been getting starts in this series, was dismissed in the slip cordon by Joe Root off Ben Stokes's delivery for a solid 40 off 62 balls.

England started off the day's play with Root's 37th Test but his defence was soon breached by no. 1 Test bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who took a fifer.

Even before Root walked back to the hut with 104 off 199 balls, his overnight partner and England captain Ben Stokes was also bowled out in a stunner for a promising 44.

Bumrah was in no mood to hold back as he soon got rid of Chris Woakes for a duck but Jamie Smith (51) and Brydon Carse (56) hit their individual half centuries to ensure the hosts crossed 350.

Bumrah's pace bowling partner Mohammed Siraj eventually dismissed both Smith and Carse in 107th and 110th overs respectively to open his account in the match.
