Mumbai/IBNS: Blistering knocks by Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram powered Sunrisers Hyderabad to thrash Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) here on Friday.

Chasing a competitive target of 176, Hyderabad lost quick wickets in the form of Abhishek Sharma and skipper Kane Williamson.

After their dismissals, Tripathi and Markram took charge of the batting and played anchor roles in the run chase.

Tripathi (71 off 37 balls) and Markram (68 not out off 36 balls) went all out against the Kolkata bowlers to deny the Knights any remote comeback in the match.

Kolkata's top order batting once again collapsed on Friday until Nitish Rana and Andre Russell came to their rescue.

While Rana scored 54 off 36 balls, Russell once again showed his power slamming a 25-ball 49 runs innings.

With the defeat, Kolkata slipped down to the fourth position in the IPL standings.
