Rashid Khan picks up 150 wickets in less than 100 matches in T20 International

Afghanistani skipper Rashid Khan has become the first bowler to take 150 wickets in less than 100 T20 international games.

In his historic achievement, the skipper became the fastest bowler to achieve the feat in 92 matches.

New Zealand's Tim Southee is another bowler to do the same in 118 matches.

Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is one wicket shot of joining the club.

People celebrated the historic moment in their country's cricket history when Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh on Tuesday to reach the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup.

Though unexpected, Afghanistan spun a surprise when they beat Australia and New Zealand in Super 8 and Group state clashes and then went on to defeat Bangladesh to reach the semi-finals of the 20-over cricketing extravaganza.

The pictures and videos of people celebrating the victory of the national side are now viral on the social media.

Afghanistan's victory also ensured Australia's run ended in this edition of the marquee tournament.

Australia were betting on Bangladesh to win, the only way the Aussies could reach the semifinals.

The Aussies had a disastrous run in the Super 8 stage after they suffered a stunning defeat in the hands of Afghanistan followed by a 24-run loss against India on Monday.

After putting 115/5 in 20 overs, Afghanistan bowled Bangladesh for 105 in 17.5 overs to clinch the win through Duckworth Lewis method in a rain-interrupted match.

Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan (4/23) and Naveen-ul-Haq (4/26) were the star of the match with the ball after low total put on the scoreboard by the batters.

Afghanistan will now take on South Africa in the first semifinal while India will play against England in the second semifinal. Both matches will be played on June 27.
