Rio : Wrestler Narsingh Yadav, banned for four years

New Delhi, Aug 19 (IBNS): Giving jolt to India' s medal hopes, Indian wrestler Narsingh Yadav, hit by doping trouble, has been banned by four years.

He was unable to get a clearance from the  Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) in Rio, reports said.

The 74kg wrestler will not be able to represent India in the Olympics.

National anti-doping panel on Aug 1 cleared wrestler Narsingh Yadav of doping charges.

The wrestler faced trouble when he had failed a dope test ahead of Rio Olympics.

The decision had cleared his way to compete in the mega sports event.

Amid reports that his food was spiked resulting in wrestler Narsingh Yadav testing positive for a banned substance, the athlete had failed a second dope test too, said media reports.

According to earlier media reports, the second dope test conducted on July 5 by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has also dismissed any tampering of his food as alleged by him.
