Sam Billings, Russels' knocks in IPL clash impresses former cricketer Virender Sehwag

Mumbai, Apr 11 (IBNS): Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag was left impressed by the hard-hitting batting display by Sam Billings of Chennai Super Kings and Andre Russell of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during their clash in Chennai on Tuesday.

Sehwag is the current technical director of Indian Premier League franchise Kings XI Punjab.

"What a welcome back to the IPL for Chennai. First Russell’s 11 sixes , then Billings ‘ brilliance and a Chennai victory. Romba Nalla ! #CSKvKKR," Sehwag tweeted appreciating the cricketers.

It was Russell who smashed 36-ball 88 runs in the KKR innings which left fans impressed during the high-voltage IPL knock on Tuesday.

He hammered 11 sixes and a boundary in his knock.

After his stormy knock, CSK reached the target of 203 runs by losing five wickets with Sam adding 23-ball 56 runs with his willow.

He hammered five sixes and two boundaries in the innings that left spectators amazed.

Sam himself enjoyed the innings and it was clear from his Instagram post which read: "Incredible atmosphere at the Den last night! Awesome win again @chennaiipl ; Great fun! 🙌🏼 #WhistlePodu."
