Shahid Afridi won't play in IPL ever, calls PSL a bigger tournament

Islamabad, Apr 6 (IBNS): Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has said he will not play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) even if he is invited to be a part of the tournament.

According to the tweets of the editor of pakistanpassion.net, Saj Sadiq, Afridi, under whose leadership Pakistan reached the semi-finals of the ICC World Cup in 2011, said he is enjoying playing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

He said in future PSL will become a more bigger event than the IPL.

Sdiq tweeted quoting Afridi as saying: "Even if they call me, I won't go to the IPL. My PSL is the biggest and there will be a time that it leaves the IPL behind. I am enjoying the PSL, I don't have any need for the IPL. I'm not interested in it and never was."

Afridi plays for PSL.

Afridi last played in the IPL in 2008.

He played for Deccan Chargers in the cash-rich tournament.

No Pakistani players have played for any IPL franchise since then.
