Colombo/Mumbai, Aug 17 (IBNS): Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the remaining part of India's tour of Sri Lanka due to injury, the BCCI confirmed on Monday.

"The BCCI medical team has confirmed that opening batsman Mr. Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the remaining part of India’s tour of Sri Lanka - 2015. Mr. Dhawan had injured his right hand during the first Test at Galle," the board said in a statement.

"He underwent further tests that confirmed a hairline fracture in his hand. He would require four to six weeks to recover from the injury," it said.

India lost the first Test against Sri Lanka.

The second Test of the series begins from Thursday.
