Siddhi Rao leads National Chess, to bag Under-7 championship trophy

Kolkata, June 5 (IBNS): Siddhi Rao is a game away to bag the championship trophy of National Under-7 Chess Championship commencing at Kolkata from 1st to 6th June at the New Town School, Kolkata. 

In the Open section of the 33rd National U-7 Chess Championship, Akhil, Swastik and Rane from Andhra, Orissa and Maharashtra respectively are in joint lead after the completion of the 10th round.

Siddhi continued her power chess to conquer all her opponents and garnered a total 9.5 out of possible 10 while the second best M Sanah from Tamil Nadu lagged behind her by 0.5 points.

Akhil Prasad, Swastik Patnaik and Rane Viraj will conclude the championship of the open category by a tough fight in the final round of the event which will take place tomorrow at 10 a.m tomorrow at the aforementioned venue.

A grand prize distribution ceremony has been organized followed by the deciding event where all the top-ranked players will be awarded in presence of the august guests.
