Skal International Kolkata, WBCADA to hold exhibition match celebrating inclusivity and resilience

Kolkata/IBNS: SKAL International Kolkata, the city chapter of the global body for leaders in the travel and tourism industry, is set to host a special cricketing event that celebrates grit, determination and sportsmanship as it joins hands with the West Bengal Cricket Association for Differently Abled (WBCADA) with support from the British Deputy High Commission and the Cricket Association of Bengal.

The organisations will jointly organise a friendly one-day, one-innings exhibition T20 match featuring differently abled cricket players at Rajasthan Club, Maidan, on December 7, 2025, starting 9:30 am onwards.

Amin Asghar, president of SKAL International Kolkata, told IBNS, "Inclusiveness is part of the culture that we follow and that is what promotes tourism going to different types of people and including them in the mainstream.

"This is the basic concept of SKAL... Our collaboration with the British Deputy High Commissioner is long and we have done a lot of activities together in the past."

Positioned as a showcase of resilience, the match aims to spotlight the exceptional spirit, skill and finesse of differently abled athletes. Spectators have been invited to witness “a battle of pure determination, class and finesse fought on the ground,” the organisers said.

The initiative underscores a broader push to create visibility and opportunities for differently abled sportspersons, while encouraging the public to recognise their talent and perseverance.

Utpal Majumdar, coach of the West Bengal Cricket Association for Differently Abled, said: "This is a fantastic initiative. The match gives a platform to the differently abled cricketers to prove that we can also succeed given an opportunity."

The organisers expect a strong turnout as Kolkata gears up to cheer for a game that promises not just sporting action, but a celebration of inclusion and human spirit.

How to reach Rajasthan Club?

Rajasthan Club, the venue, is conveniently located near Park Street Metro Station (Exit Gate 5), making it accessible for attendees.
