Smith's 192 heroics take Australia to 530, India 108/1

Resuming the day from the overnight score of 259 for five, Smith took the role of a perfect leader in destroying India's bowling as he smashed 15 boundaries and two sixes in his 305-ball knock.

he completely butchered the Indian bowling which looked completely ineffective on the second day as well.

Smith got the support of Brad Haddin (55),

Mitchell Johnson (28) and Ryan Harris  (74) at the other end as Australia moved towards posting a mammoth total on the scoreboard.

Harris played a smart knock of 74 runs where he smashed eight boundaries and a six.

Smith and Harris joined to add 110 runs in the sixth wicket partnership as Australia added 246 runs for the last five wickets.

All the Indian bowlers went for runs with Mohammed Shami taking four wickets while R Ashwin and Umesh Yadav shared three wickets each.

India lost the wicket of Dhawan and posted 108 at the end of the day, still trailing Australia by 422 runs.

Murali Vijay, who has already hit a century in the series, is unbeaten at 55 while he will be pairing with

Cheteshwar Pujara (25*) on the morning of the third day with an aim of surpassing the opposition's first innings total.

Harris has picked up the wicket of Dhawan at his personal score of 28.

Smith has praised his tail-ender batsmen and called their performance as 'terrific'.

He said he felt that Indian bowlers did not had an 'answer' to combat the manner in which the tail-ender Australian batsmen were playing.

Indian off-spinner R Ashwin,however, said Australia’s total is par and not at all out of India’s reach at the batting friendly conditions.

"We will make 650 and try to put them back in," a confident Ashwin was quoted as saying by media.
