Sri Lankan spin legend Muralitharan out of hospital

Sri Lankan cricket legend and Sunrisers Hyderabad spin coach Muttiah Muralitharan has been released from hospital after undergoing a successful coronary angioplasty at a Chennai private hospital. The offie underwent the procedure on Sunday, hours after he got admitted for a cardiac check-up. He was discharged a day later.

"He underwent successful coronary angioplasty with stents yesterday under the care of Dr G Sengottuvelu, senior interventional cardiologist," Apollo Hospitals said in a release on Monday.

"He would resume his normal activities."

With 1347 victims, the 49-year-old Sri Lankan bowler is the leading wicket-taker in international cricket. He is the only bowler to have taken 800 test wickets.
