Suryakumar Yadav to lead India in Asia Cup 2025, Shubman Gill vice-captain

Mumbai/IBNS: India's T20 batting star Suryakumar Yadav has been announced as the captain of the Indian cricket team for the upcoming Asia Cup.

India's Test captain Shubman Gill has been named vice-captain.

The 15-member squad has been picked by the Ajit Agarkar-led Men's selection panel.

Sanju Samson has been named as the primary wicketkeeper-batter.

Jitesh Sharma is an alternate option to keep wicket in the tournament.

India's premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, whose workload management has remained a challenge for Team India, is playing in the contest.

Asia Cup 2025, which will be played in the T20 format, will begin on September 9 and India will play their first match against UAE on 10th of the same month.

India's squad: Surya Kumar Yadav (C), Shubman Gill (VC), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma (WK), Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Sanju Samson (WK), Harshit Rana, Rinku Singh
