T20 World Cup: New Zealand beat Ireland by 35 runs

Adelaide/IBNS: New Zealand defeated Ireland by 35 runs in a Group 1 match of the T20 World Cup on Friday.

Batting first, New Zealand scored 185/6 in 20 overs, courtesy skipper Kane Williamson's 35-ball 61.

Williamson hit five fours and three sixes in his aggressive knock.

Joshua Little claimed a hattrick by clinching three wickets for 22 runs in four overs.

Chasing the target of 186, Ireland ended up scoring only 150 losing nine wickets in 20 overs.

Paul Stirling was the top scorer with his 37 off 27 balls.
