Team CoreFit from Kolkata impresses at the IKFF Delhi Kettlebell Championship 2019

Kolkata, Feb 28 (IBNS): The IKFF(International Kettlebell and Fitness Federation) national Kettlebell Championship was held in New Delhi on 21st of March 2019. The competition saw participation close to 40 athletes at the premier mall of Delhi - Select City Walk.

Team CoreFit took a contingent for 8 athletes and secured 6 gold medals 2 bronze medal and 1 silver medal in this competition.

In the ladies’ team Yogita Sureka and Binita Bhutoria won Gold with strong performances with 12kg Snatch and 16kg Long cycle securing 97 and 49 reps respectively, and Gunjan Ahalani took silver with a very inspiring snatch set with 16kg achieving 83 reps. Part of the team was Anshu Taravath from Gurgaon who secured a bronze with her personal best performance of 113 reps with 8kg Kettlebell.

Among the men Saikat Ray blazed through to win the Gold in Long Cycle with Double 16kg securing 108 reps, along with Sanjib Mitra winning Gold in jerk only category with double 16 bells achieving 102 reps.

Samrat Sen secured double Gold medals with double 20kg Long cycle and 24kg Snatch in the 5min category securing 50 & 92 reps respectively. Whereas Avishek Majumdar secured a bronze with a classy performance of 166 reps with 16kg Kettlebell.

The event was organised and conducted by MadFit personal training and group workout studio and IKFF. Athletes from Kolkata, Delhi, Gurgaon, Pune Chennai and Gujarat took part in this championship.
