Vinesh Phogat wins gold medal for India in Asian Games

Jakarta, Aug 20 (IBNS): Making Indians proud, Vinesh Phogat won gold medal in the 50-kilogram women’s Freestyle final event of the ongoing Asian Games.

 

The Indian wrestler won the medal by beating Japan’s Yuki Irie in the medal match.

Vinesh completely dominated the match by taking a 4-0 lead initially.

She then stretched the lead further to  6-2 and bagged the medal.

Congratulating her, Union Minister Babul Supriyo tweeted: "India bags second GOLD at #AsianGames2018 as @Phogat_Vinesh wins in women's freestyle 50 kg category. Heartiest Congratulations to #VineshPhogat on the win. #ShePower #IndiaAtAsianGames."

This is the second gold medal India won in the ongoing Asian Games.
